The Amrit Yoga Institute is located in the heart
of Central Florida in Marion County on Lake Kerr
in the Ocala National Forest. It is a 1/2-hour
drive from Silver Springs/Ocala; two hours from
Orlando, Tampa, and Jacksonville and approximately
one hour from Gainesville, as well as various
beach towns on the East Coast of Florida (Daytona
and Ormond Beach).
It is easily accessible from either Interstate
75 or 95 and from the Orlando (easiest), Jacksonville
and Tampa Airports. The Amtrak/Greyhound station
of Ocala is located within 35 miles.
Driving From the North via I-75:
Take I-75 south into Florida; get off at Exit
368. Head east on Hwy 318 (approx 7-10 miles)
until the intersection with Hwy 301 at Citra.
Go south on 301 for a few miles until you come
to Hwy 316 and turn east. Where 316 intersects
200, it does not continue straight across; signs
will guide you a short ways down 200 to where
316 continues. 316 takes you directly into Salt
Springs (approx 20-25 miles). Turn right onto
Hwy 19 South past Salt Springs Square (small shopping
area on your right) and a few small businesses.
You will see the roads branch up ahead where 19
curves to the left. Stay to the right, following
the sign to Ocala. You are now on West Hwy 314.
Go about 1.6 miles to the Institute. Look for
a long brick wall on the right side of the road,
with a black iron gate with a sign reading Oak
Village. A large mailbox on a brick pillar has
the numbers 23855. Enter here and follow signs
to park.
Driving From the North via I-95:
As you approach Jacksonville on I-95, take 295
South around the city until you get to Exit 10
(old exit 3) to State Rd 17 South. Head south
on SR 17/15 just before the town of Palatka (approx
35-40 miles), where you will turn right on Hwy
19 (still heading south-a school and large playground
are located at the intersection). Hwy 19 takes
you to Salt Springs (approx 20 miles). Go past
Salt Springs Square (small shopping area on your
right) and a few small businesses. You will see
the roads branch up ahead. Stay to the right,
following the sign to Ocala. You are now on West
Hwy 314. Go about 1.6 miles to the property. Look
for a long brick wall on the right side of the
road, with a black iron gate with a sign reading
Oak Village. A large mailbox on a brick pillar
has the numbers 23855.
Driving From the South via I-75:
Take I-75 north and get off at Ocala exit 352
(this is Hwy 40/Silver Springs Blvd). Turn east.
This will take you directly through the towns
of Ocala and Silver Springs (approx 14 miles).
After you get through Silver Springs, (and over
a bridge) you will come to NE County Road 314
(a light and two gas stations at Nuby's Corner)
Turn left (north). We are approximately 16 miles

get to the small businesses of Salt Springs) Look

road, with a black iron gate with a sign reading
Oak Village. A large mailbox on a brick pillar
has the numbers 23855.
Driving from Daytona Beach

Daytona Beach area. Get off at the Highway 40
exit and head west for about 40 miles. At the
light at SR 19, turn right toward Salt Springs
for about 15 miles. As you reach the south end
of Salt Springs you will see a road sign indicating
a sharp left turn (almost a U turn) off of Route
19 onto Route 314. Turn left and go 1.7 miles
Southwest. Slow down and look for a long brick
wall on your right. In front of the gate there
is a large mailbox that says 23855. The black
iron gate has a sign that says 'Oak Village'.
Turn right through the gate.
Driving From the
Orlando Airport — Faster but harder:
Follow the North exit signs out of the airport.
At the north exit Go WEST on the Bee Line Expressway
(SR 528). Continue approx 5 miles until you see
signs for the Florida Turnpike. Go NORTH on the
Turnpike to the Exit (North) onto SR 429, which
takes you to Apopka.
This toll road ends at Route 441, the 'Orange
Blossom Trail'. Turn Left (North) and continue
through Mount Dora to Route 19 North. Please note:
From the time you turn onto Route 441 until you
reach the Ocala National Forest (about 24 miles)
you pass through several towns and will encounter
frequent changes in speed limits from 30 to 55
(speed trap). Use Caution.
Continue north about 40 miles on Route 19. As
you reach the south end of Salt Springs you will
see a road sign indicating a sharp left turn (almost
a U turn) off of Route 19 onto Route 314. Turn
left and go 1.7 miles Southwest. Slow down and
look for a long brick wall on your right. In front
